Monday is here

Whew, this weekend FLEW by!! We had such an amazing weekend, though. When Z got home from work on Saturday we were going to head to Walmart to get the rest of Ty's things for school. Well, while we were getting ready he pulled me aside and asked if I wanted to do something fun with the boys, since they haven't really done ANYTHING this summer....heck, they hardly played outside at all. :( I told him it sounded great, especially with how things had been the past few days. So we went to Walmart first. This weekend was a tax free weekend, and I swear all the crazies came out!! We didn't go to our regular store, which made it so much more crazy. We found most of the items he needed there, but I couldn't get over how unorganized it all was. This year Ty needed those zipper pouches that go in a 3-ring binder (oh, and he needed a 1.5" binder...not 1", but 1.5"....we had to hunt all OVER for that size, and it ended up costing almost $7!!) and they had them with the school supplies, but they were almost $4!! I picked up 2, and asked where we could find the tab dividers. They said if we didn't see them to check in the Stationary section, so we just headed that way. We found them, as well as the 1.5" binder. We were leaving that isle when I saw more zipper pouches. They were about the size of the ones we had (maybe a little thinner, but still nice) and they were only .97!! Why the hell didn't they have THOSE down with the school supply mess?!?!? And forget about finding pencils. It was just insane. So we picked up some underwear and socks for him, and then a pair of jeans and left. We went to Target to see if they had some pencils and what all they had on sale, and their school supply section was slammed as well, but we did manage to find pencils! Thank you, Target!!

After we were done we headed towards our surprise. I was SO worried, as the sky looked nasty and they were calling for some strong storms. But we kept heading up the road and it seemed to clear a little which was nice. Our surprise was, Z took us to the Jefferson County Fair!! WOW, the boys were SO surprised and excited!!! I hadn't been to anything like that since I was a little older than Ty, so I was just as excited!!! It wasn't a whole lot to get in (thank goodness!) and we got there a little early but they were letting people in. (it opened at 5pm, but we got there a little after 4:30 and we got in) The boys were just so overwhelmed with it all....Ty kept saying "Ohh, I want to ride that ride!" and "And then i'll ride that one!" And all of the food they had....OMG, the smell was sooooo yummy!! The first thing they did was ride the Fun Slide. Ty could ride by himself, but daddy had to ride with Chase. (mommy had to take the pics, right?!?) Ugh, and speaking of pics. I remembered to bring my camera....and forgot the flippin memory card!!! Thank goodness I had charged my phone so I could get some pics! Ohhh, and for a phone it took some GREAT shots!!! Anyhoo, they all loved the slide! They had alot of rides for Chase as well as rides for older kids, which was really nice. Chase got on one or two, and then he and daddy (and Ty and I) rode the Ferris Wheel. After that we got a small snack....I finally got my snowball!!!! We hit the potty's and then got on some more rides. Ty also got to ride a pony and then we went to the petting zoo. Later that evening they had a tractor pull and that was SO cool!!! It was really loud, but both boys seemed to really like it. We got another small snack and walked some more so Ty could get on a few more things. When we first got there there was hardly anyone there so the lines were short, but by the time we were ready to go it was SLAMMED and the lines were majorly long. After 3 hours we were ready to go, though. When we left we all kept talking about how much fun it all was and thanking Z for taking us there! I did get lots of pics, and even a video of the tractor pull, but they are all on Facebook. (won't post them here, especially after all the drama that went on)

We stopped and ate dinner then came home. I put Chase to bed not too long after we got home and he passed out right away!! It was just so nice to get out as a family and do something like that. Especially now that Ty goes back to school next week.

Thank you again Z for an amazing time!!!! Photobucket

Another weekend....

Is here! It's just the boys and I today, and it's been a decent day so far!! Chase is being so funny, as he is talking SO much now. Yesterday when we picked Ty up from school and he got in the van Chase told him, "Hi, Bubba! I Chase!" And we have an adorable bear (thanks to our MD love) that when you hug him it says different things...one thing it says is "What a big bear hug! Are you a bear, too?" and Chase always says "No, I Chase..." It is so flippin cute! I love all the talking he is doing now. I really need to try and get it on video. Ty got his report card yesterday and is doing really well!! Aside from the talking and worrying about others, he is really doing great with everything. We have a meeting with the teacher next Tuesday, so we'll find out more about what all he is doing.

As for this weekend, I really want to get some baking done. I took some butter out of the freezer and am hoping to get some sugar cookies as well as oatmeal raisin cookies made. Plus I want to make some cupcakes. I've been playing Christmas music this morning and I am really in the mood to bake!!!! Now to get the energy to do it!!! LOL

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Bye bye, weekend....

Despite missing out on the corn maze, the boys and I still had a decent weekend. Ty and Chase are just hilarious when they play! But I think my favorite thing to watch them do together is draw......Ty has always loved to draw and Chase absolutely LOVES it! We go through tons of paper in this house. It was really chilly this weekend, and I actually broke down and turned the heat on yesterday morning. (I so miss having a woodstove for heat!) It was right around 50 degrees in the house and the floors were freezing!!! I only had it on for about an hour, but it felt so odd having to use it. I love the cooler weather, though. I'm assuming as I get older I despise the heat more and more! LOL This week it's supposed to still be cool in the mornings but warm up to the mid/upper 70's during the day....I can live with that!! Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Another weekend has left us

And boy am I glad it's gone!! We had such a rough weekend here. It was actually a three day weekend for Ty, since school was closed Friday. Ty had been complaining on and off of an upset tummy, but nothing too bad. Chase had had some diarrhea issues but nothing major......until Saturday. He woke up with a bad diaper, and he decided to take it off himself. All of the sudden Ty went to yelling about poop.........on the floor. It got on the rug in the laundry room and on the actual floor. I finally got him to come to me so I could get him good and clean and get a diaper on him. That went good.....until a few minutes later when he went again, and this time the diaper couldn't hold it. Yeah, it was that kind of day. Z missed work on Saturday because he was up going to the bathroom most of the night, and Ty's tummy was giving him some issues as well. By the end of the day I was wiped out!!! Chase seemed to have all of his poop issues done by Saturday night but Ty still was having issues with his tummy. He kept getting really bad belly aches Sunday morning. Z went and got him some stuff for his tummy and after a bit it seemed to start working. We had him watch what he ate yesterday, and this morning he seemed to be back on track. I feel so bad for him, because his tummy has been bothering him on and off for about a week or so now. :( If it keeps up i'm going to see about getting him into the family doctor.

Monday rolls around again

Boy did this weekend go by fast. We were so busy and on the run that it just flew by! Friday Z went to the bank and got our Christmas fund out so we could start getting things for the boys. We got some really great deals, and they are just about done! It feels so good to be able to say that, knowing that we don't have to worry about where the money will come from for the boys gifts. Money is tight all year long, but it's usually extra tight around the holidays! For Ty we got him:

- a Penguin Pillow Pet. He wanted the pig, but everytime I went to order it it was either sold out or kept going up in price!! He said he also liked the penguin and puppy, so we got him the penguin.
- a Spongebob Lego set, plus a starter Lego kit.
- a Leapster 2. he has the original Leapster but we feel he is ready for the next one, but not quite yet ready for more expensive handheld gaming systems....so far the Leapster can take his abuse! LOL
- I Spy Leapster game....He just LOVEs those I Spy books, as do I!!
- a 5 pack of Hot Wheel cars....like he needs more....he has SO many of them and they are always laying everywhere, but Kmart had them super cheap so we couldn't resist.
- 2 Matchbox play sets that hook together.

I still want to get him a few Chapter Books, since he loves to read so much.....plus we still need to get him a few more things for his stocking. And for Chase we have gotten:

- an Elmo play set. Kmart had a huge markdown on toys a few months ago and we got an amazing deal on it!!
- an Elmo alphabet bus
- a Monkey Pillow Pet. Of course I had to get him the monkey....he is, after all, my little monkers!!!
- a 5 pack of Hot Wheel cars...we are such a gluten for punishment. Photobucket
- Yo Gabba Gabba dvd
- Spongebob hat and mitten set.....I saw this at the store last Friday and tried it on him....he looked ADORABLE!!!!

We also need to get him a few more things for his stocking. Not too bad, huh?!? I am SOOOOO ready to get started with decorating for the holidays.....ok, is it wrong that I already have our first decoration up?!?

Ok, to be fair I had to hang it up because the little wooden thingie broke and I need to keep it flat so it wouldn't break any worse.....that's my story and i'm sticking to it!!! Photobucket
