My poor baby
So Chase had his 9 month check up yesterday and all went well. The doctor did give us a prescription for an antibiotic for his runny/stuffy nose, but the doctor said he was doing fine. Well, last night was HELL with Chase. He was up most of the night fussing and crying......he would eat a little of his bottle, then doze off for a bit.......after about an hour he would wake up just crying and screaming. By 4am Z was getting frustrated with him (he sleeps in bed with us up next to daddy) and considering he had to get up for work at 5am I took Chase and went into the living room. I turned the tv on and Chase fussed on and off a little then finally fell asleep. By 5:30am I had to pee something terrible so I got up and layed Chase in our bed. He immediately went to fussing so I made him a bottle and gave it to him and within a few minutes he went back to sleep. He seemed fine when he woke up at 6:30 and he was his normal self when we took Ty to school......he loves to "talk" to me when we head back home after dropping Ty off. Normally when we get home I put him in his highchair and feed him breakfast.......as soon as I put him in his highchair he started crying/screaming. I made another bottle and layed him down. Usually he'll fall asleep after a few minutes, but he just kept fussing. I emptied the dishwasher and reloaded it, then put a load of laundry in and cleaned up the kitchen, which took about 45 minutes.......I then checked on Chase and he was STILL crying. :( I felt so bad for him. I picked him up and took him into the living room....as soon as I picked him up he layed his little head on my shoulder and I knew something wasn't right........he LOVES to look all over the place when I pick him up. I sat on the sofa and turned Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on and he watched a few minutes of it before he feel back to sleep. His little eyes looked so blood shot and red.....and I noticed when he would take a breath, he would hold it for a few seconds before he would take another one. After he had been asleep for awhile I layed him back down and took a quick shower and finished laundry. By the time I got done he was fussing again. I once again sat on the sofa with him and he snuggled down/fell asleep again (SO not like him at all.....he always fights to get down and play on the floor).....I called Z to tell him he would need to pick up Ty from school today as I was worried about Chase and I told him how he was acting. After I hung up I took Chase's temp and it was 100.4. :( I called Z right back and told him and he said he had already called another mechanic to come in to work and told his boss he had to leave because Chase was really sick. He left work, picked up Ty from school early and came and got us to go to the emergency room. They saw us super fast, which was good because you could see Chase was hurting and just miserable.......gah, I get teary eyed just thinking about how pitiful my baby looked. They took us back and the doctor checked his left ear and said he had an ear infection and that the right ear was red so he may get one in that ear as well. I asked how in the world that was possible when he was JUST checked yesterday and she said they can develop quickly and overnight like his did. They did an x-ray of his chest to make sure that was clear and did a nose swab.....ugh, that was awful. They did the swab first and by the time they got to do the x-ray his nose was bleeding. :( So, we left with a prescription for an antibiotic and a numbing drop for his ears.......they said we can continue using the tylenol/motrin as needed, too. I felt so bad........I was so frustrated with how crappy he slept last night and he was only fussing because he was hurting so bad. :(
Since being home, he's had a dose of antibiotic and some tylenol and has been sleeping on and off but seems to already be doing better............hopefully he'll continue to improve!!

Chase's 9 month check-up *edited 03.25.10*
Chase had his 9 month check-up today and he is doing GREAT!!! His stats are:
19 lbs 6 ozs
28.5" long*
18" head circumference
Overall the doctor seems pleased with the pace he is growing. He was such a good boy at the office, too! He was flirting with all the ladies. LOL He didn't get any shots today, thank goodness and doesn't need to go back until he's a year old. Woohoo!!!!
Ok, so I went to add his 9 months stats in his baby book and when Chase had his 6 month check-up in December he was 26.5 inches long......so how in the hell is he STILL the same length 3 months later?!?!? I checked his length myself yesterday and I got 28.5 inches, so i'm going to go with that......and i'm also seriously considering getting a regular pediatrician for the boys and not a family doctor. How did he not see Chase's length from December and not question the length the nurse got?!?!? They are always WAY off on both of the boys weight and apparently on Chase's length as well!! >:-(

Thinking of you
*I apologize in advance for this post being so damn depressing.........
I've been thinking about mom so much lately. More so than I normally do. I want so badly to call her and tell her the new things that Chase is doing and how well Ty is doing in school. It's been almost 2 years, but I miss our morning calls, chatting about nothing in particular............I miss calling her to get help with cooking spaghetti, even though i've made it hundreds of time. When I get pictures printed I say to myself "I need to make sure I get an extra set to send to mom...." and then realize I don't need that extra set. I just miss knowing that she's there. After I dropped Ty off at school this morning I put a cd in and heard a song that hit close to home for me........it's called "Thinking of you" by Lenny Kravitz:
Music: Lenny Kravitz/Lysa Trenier - Lyrics: Lenny Kravitz
Tell me mama is your life a better change?
And tell me mama
Would you live your life the same
Or come back and rearrange?
Tell me mama how is freedom?
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
Tell me mama
Are the colors deeper shades?
And tell me mama
Are there great big brass parades?
Does the sun shine night and day?
Tell me mama no more sleeping
Tell me mama no more weeping
I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be yeah
Hey mama, hey mamama, mama
No, no, no, no, no
Oh no, no, no, no, no
Hey
Tell me mama is it just the way they say?
Tell me mama
And tell me mama are you missing me the way
That I'm missing you today?
Tell me mama can you hear me?
Oh I'm thinking of you
And all the things that you wanted me to be
And I'm trying now
(Repeat 5x)
Oh I'm thinking of you

Winterfest!!
Last Friday Ty's school had something called Winterfest. They had two big blow up things for the kids to play on....one was one they go into and jump and the other was a HUGE obstacle course that they had to climb through and then go down a slide at the end. They also had tons of games and activities for the kids. An armband was $10 (all the money they collected went back into the school) and they also sold tickets for $.50. The armband was for the blow up things and also covered all the games. The tickets were for the games (in case you didn't buy the armband), the food and for the raffle. They have two big hallways, and each hallway had fun things for the kids. Then some of the classrooms were set up for different things you could purchase/win. One was for a cake walk, and another room was set up with things called Jazzy Jars.....they were jars that the students made that were filled with things and you could purchase. The library was also set up for people to play bingo. Also, they have a sheriff that is there just about every day (not because the school needs that, I think she is mainly there to help with traffic during pick up times) and she was walking around and "arresting" people......they had a pretend jail set up and it cost 4 tickets to set someone free....it was hilarious!!! As for food, Chick-fil-a was a sponsor of Winterfest and they provided the dinner. You got a chicken sandwich, bag of chips and a drink for $5. We didn't order any because we didn't decide to go until Friday afternoon. BUT, they had some super yummy food set out.....they had popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, nachos & cheese and fried oreos! The nachos & cheese were sooooo yummy. And the snow cones were amazing!! We didn't try the fried oreos.....the smell from them cooking was just nasty!! People said they were good, though. Ty had such a great time.....he saw 3-4 of his classmates and was playing in the gym with them (where they had the blow up things set up) and just had a blast! That made the whole night totally worth it. Chase even had fun! The only downside to it all was the siblings/older kids that were there.....they were SO rude and running through the halls and cutting in front of the smaller kids. I saw several smaller kids come close to being knocked down by the bigger kids.....just sad.
Ok, on to the pictures!! The first few are of Ty on the huge blow up obstacle course.
Up the ladder.....

The slide.....

Whee!!!!

I wish I would have gotten a better pic of this thing.....but it was so big it was hard to get back far enough for a pic! LOL I also tried to get a pic of him in the blow up castle, but it was too dark inside.
He got his hair spray painted!!

He also played a game called "Pie in the face"...they put Redi-whip on a plate and put a small candy valentine heart in it and you had to use your mouth to find it.

They also had face painting.....

And, the Chick-fil-a cow!!!

He played lots of other games, but I think his favorite was playing in those blow up things. I'm so glad we decided to go!!!!

Way too long!!!
I am so very sorry it's been so long since i've posted any updates. I hardly find any time to get online anymore, and when I do it's just a few minutes here and there. Ok, on to the updates!!!
Things here are going well. It's been SO freakin' cold and snowy!! (although, no where NEAR as much snow as they got back home in MD) We've had a few snow "storms" come through that gave us a little over 2" of snow......that's not much, but when it sticks to our road it's nasty!!! And our road is crazy to begin with!! LOL Ty had two snow days in the past two months, which isn't bad. There is one county here in TN that has been out for snow days for 16 days in a row!!! They finally just went back yesterday at a 2hr delay. I am SO sick of this winter and ready for the warmer weather! I'm sure i'll bitch about the heat once summer does get here, though......LOL!
Z had a scare last month with his dad. He's been having trouble for years with being out of breath and complaining about chest pains and just last year was complaining about feeling like he was going to pass out unless someone would touch his hand.....he's stubborn and hard headed and didn't tell the doctor about any of it. One Sunday a few weeks ago he passed out and his pulse was low so they called 911. Turns out he needed a pacemaker put in.......he had it put in on a Monday and was home by Tuesday late afternoon. He's doing much better as far as being out of breath......
Tyler is doing GREAT in school!!! He's still in the highest reading group and his handwriting is getting so much neater. His teacher sent home an interim report last week and said as long as he takes his time with writing it is super neat. Now to just get him to stay slowed down! LOL He's got yet another cold and complains on and off about his tummy hurting, but for the most part he seems to be getting over it. He does tell me his tummy bothers him in the mornings still, but i'm sure it's just nerves.....I did the same thing, and still have a nervous stomach to this day! He's also told me he has several girlfriends in his class........it's SO sweet!! I told him to be extra nice to the girls as one of them could be his future wife someday and he said "Ewww mom, stop saying that!"
Chase is also doing great!! Can you believe he's 8 months old already?!?!?
Where has the time gone?!? He's such a little stinker........he does this adorable laugh that cracks me up every time. And he is officially sitting up all by himself!!! He's so proud of himself when he sits up without someone holding him. He still has no teeth yet, but is drooling like crazy and putting things in his mouth to chew on, so i'm thinking they will be coming in soon. Another new thing he has discovered is his tongue......he loves to "chew" on it and stick it out! He's also still working on crawling....when I put him on his blanket on the floor he immediately goes to his hands and knees and rocks.....then he slips back down onto his tummy and plays. We're working on waving, and he will occasionally do a super cute wave. He loves his big brother SO much........anytime Ty comes into the room or Chase hears his voice, he just lights up. And Ty is so amazing with him....he is always asking to play with Chase, or to cuddle with him. I just love watching my boys interact with each other so much......
We got our taxes done earlier this month and we did GREAT! After we paid some bills we bought a new sofa and love seat!! Our old sofa had had it and it was time for something new. We were going to check out some sectionals, but we fell in love with a gorgeous sofa & love seat......the material is similar to leather, and each piece has two recliners......so we ended up with 4 recliners total!!! Plus we still have the old one!
It is SO super comfy.
Ok, here are some pics!!!

Happy birthday to my big boy!
Yesterday, at 5:29am, my big boy Tyler turned 6 years old. *sigh* How in the world am I a mom to a 6 year old?!? The time has gone by so quickly. He had a great day, though! I sang "happy birthday" to him yesterday morning and when I picked him up from school and I was singing it again in the van. He looked at me like I was crazy, but said he liked it. LOL Last night we all had strawberry cake with whipped cream icing and it was SO yummy!!! I got some pics of Tyler and Chase eating cake that I still need to fix and upload. I was going to work on that last night but this old hard drive is giving me a tough time. I can't wait to get my regular hard drive working again. I'll hopefully get some pics uploaded after I take Ty to school.......
*Speaking of old hard drive; I tried to post this several times yesterday but for some reason blogger wouldn't load....I know it was an issue on my end, obviously.*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TYLER!! WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!
