Finally a good mail day!

It's been so darn long since i've gotten some good freebies!! Today I got:

- Tide Stain Release w/small pouch of Tide detergent and a $2.00 coupon (from Facebook giveaway!)
- Honey Nut Cheerios


I had been waiting for the Tide Stain Release tablets, as i'm hoping that will help with the stains I don't see and don't get to pre-treat.......woohoo!!!

YAH!!!

Z surprised Chase (and let's be honest, it was a surprise for Ty and I as well......) last night by bringing this home.....



And it's the dvd with the episode Jack Black is in!!! That is by far our favorite!! I was getting burned out with the dvd we had, since Chase wants to play it a dozen times or more throughout the day.......YAH for a new dvd!!!!

Fickle

I think that word describes Chase fairly well lately.........my fickle monkey!!! He has changed with things SO much, and while I know children (and adults as well) go through things like that, we never went through any of it with Ty when he was 2, so this is really throwing us for a loop! For starters, he has now refused to eat LOTS of foods that he loves. A few nights ago I made pizza for dinner, which he usually chows down on......he did finally eat one slice, but only when I let him sit in daddy's seat and not his booster seat. Last night I made steak on the grill (which I now refuse to cook anything on the grill when it's 100+ degrees out) and had a baked potato, green beans and made Z some Long Grain Rice.....Chase loves ALL of those things, and yet refused steak, some potato and rice and only ate a few green beans before he whined to get out of his booster seat. I hesitated to let him down, as I wanted him to eat more than a few green beans (but didn't want to force anything into him....) but ended up giving in, and wouldn't you know, the little stinker got into Ty's seat, asked for his plate and ate every green bean on it, AND ate steak that daddy snuck onto his plate!! I thought about maybe putting his seat somewhere different at the table to see if that helps.....can't hurt to try!!

On a roll!!

I can't believe it, but I am just about caught up on Chase's first year album!!! I do need to go back and add some journaling to the layouts, and I need to get some things to add to his first Christmas layout, but for the most part I am really rolling the layouts out! I didn't get a chance to get pics of what I have done so far, but i'll hopefully get pics shortly........

Monday, Monday......

..."so good to me....." Ahhh, I can hear the song playing in my head right now! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours was really nice. We unfortunately had two days of running errands/grocery shopping which always makes the weekend fly by, but it was still nice. Saturday we went to Super Target and got some decent deals. The biggest deal we get from there is Einstein Brother bagels! We get to ST fairly early and the bagels are still fresh and a little warm! We get a bakers dozen for about $9, which isn't too bad of a deal.....they are sooooo yummy. My mom got me hooked on the Everything bagels.....they are stinky but oh so good!!! Yesterday Kroger started their new sale for the week and there were a few things we wanted to get, so we decided to go and get what we needed. We got an amazing deal for the boys.....all of their Hotwheel cars were $.54! And, we found this:



The Back To The Future movies are one of our favorites! When Ty saw this car in the bin he squealed and said "Look mom, Back to the future!!" We picked up two cars so both boys would have their own.

Well, that was as exciting as our weekend was...LOL! The weather is supposed to get crappy again since the heat is coming back....ICK!! I'd love to get the boys a small little pool to stay cool in, but I honestly don't want them outside for any amount of time. I just don't like the neighborhood we are in, mainly the neighbors we have. I am extremely thankful for having a roof over our heads, but I will be SO glad when we move, which will hopefully be in the next 1-2 years. I feel so bad that the boys are stuck in the house and not able to play outside. Ty does go out to play, but not long at all. The house next to us (it's about 50-60 feet away) is doing some not-so-nice things, and I don't want the boys out in case something happens. Poor Chase LOVES being outside, and I feel like a horrible mother for keeping him cooped up. :( I miss them being able to play on their swing set (we didn't even set it up at this house) and running through the grass, swimming in a pool and catching fireflies when they come out. :( And don't even get me started on the issues inside the house.......

Ok, enough poo poo talk!!! Z has his check-up/blood work today with the cancer doctor, so he will be home a little early today......we're going to do chicken and dumplings for dinner!!!

Ok, it's going to snow......

....because I got a layout done!!! Ok, ok....so it technically isn't all the way done, but all I need to add is the journaling and it will be complete!



I think i'll try and get a better pic of it later...maybe once I add the journaling?!? I am still so far behind, though..................

The weekend is over.....

We had a decent weekend here. It was so flippin hot! We got some of our running done on Saturday, but we had to go out yesterday and that always makes the weekend fly by. On Saturday we went out to West Knoxville and I got the last 4 colors of DMC floss (cross stitch thread) for the project i'm working on! (I still need to get a pic of it and post it!) And it was still on sale, which was nice!!! We also got some great deals at the other stores we went to. Yesterday we hit Sam's Club and Krogers and stocked up on quite a few things around here, and it's so nice to know we're well stocked on things we needed. :) We went to Walmart this weekend, and I was SO shocked to see all the back-to-school stuff out!! But then I thought about it and realized, Ty goes back to school next month! *sigh* He's actually excited about going back, but I am dreading it. Yes, I know school is important and I really AM grateful that he loves school so much, but I am really going to miss having him around the house during the day.....and I know Chase is going to miss him even more. Now to start saving so we can get the school supplies he needs, plus clothes and the $25 they want in the beginning!

In other news for this weekend, Chase peed in the potty yesterday morning!!! I was still in the shower when he and Z came into the bathroom. I asked Z if Chase was still dry and he said he was, so he put the potty on for him and sat him down. After a minute or so, he peed!!! He was SO proud of himself!!!! I would love to really get into the potty training with him, but I still don't think he knows when he has to pee or poop. We got lucky with the two times he has peed, but it was kind of easy to know he had to go because he had just woken up. Plus, right now we're dealing with some nasty diarrhea again with him. But I am still going to offer him the potty when he wakes up in the morning and after naps. (if he takes a nap, that is...LOL)

Well, I really need to get things done around here, especially while the boys are still sleeping. I'm thinking for dinner we're going to do something really light, since it's going to be so hot today, but I am going to be making some peanut butter brownies!!!

Small potty success!

Yesterday afternoon when Chase got up from his nap his diaper was still dry, so I asked him if he wanted to sit on his potty. He was super excited, but then again he always is when I ask him that! So, I put his potty seat on the toilet and sat him up to see what would happened......after a few seconds, he peed!!! And ALOT!!!! I made sure to make a huge deal out of it and he seemed pretty impressed with himself as well! I honestly don't think he is really ready to get into potty training full force, but this is a start!!!!

Now to work on his aim and teaching him to point his little friend down......

Goodies today, from UPS!!!

Regular mail was kind of crappy, but UPS surprised me today!! I was expecting my free book from Mixbook (they were offering a free $40 11 x 8.5 book, but before I could share the code it expired! I barely got my book finished and ordered, as their site was getting hammered) The book turned out amazing!!



The other package from UPS was a total surprise!! I actually signed up in time to get a free package from Scrubbing Bubbles through Facebook!!! I had no clue what I was going to get or when I would get it......



I can't beleive I got the toilet gel cleaner.....I was going to buy one this weekend with the little bit of survey money I had in paypal!!! And I just love the little Scrubbie toy I got!!

OUCH!!! :(

Poor lil' Chase-r got stung by a hornet today that snuck in the house!!! I heard him crying really hard and he was favoring his right hand when I got to him, and when I saw his finger it was blood red and was SO hot to the touch!! At first I thought he burned his hand on the oven (I had just taken lunch out of the oven and it was still pretty warm and thought he got his fingers somehow to where some heat was coming out of) so I grabbed a cold rag and was holding it on his hand. I asked him to show me how he hurt himself and he led me back into the kitchen and pointed to the floor.....and there I saw the hornet, barely crawling along. I'm assuming he saw it and was trying to pick it up and it got him?!? I looked at his hand again and noticed some of the redness was now spreading up to his elbow and started to freak. I quickly mixed up some baking soda and water and took him back into the bathroom.....by the time we got into there (only a few seconds, maybe?!?) the redness was starting to fade and he was no longer crying. I looked his finger over and didn't see a stinger in it, so I gave him some Motrin and he is now eating lunch and watching a dvd. The redness is completely gone from his arm, but his finger still looks really red, but not swollen. I've noticed he seems to be favoring that finger as well.......:(

Official start to this week......

With Z being off yesterday, this week is now officially started since he is back to work today. It was so nice being with my 3 fave men these past 3 days. Yesterday was awesome! We decided to do burgers and hot dogs off the grill along with fries and I had some potato salad. (LOVE the Food City potato salad! Now I just need to learn to make my own! LOL) For dessert I had made some sugar cookies and a strawberry shortcake (which I already posted pics of) and they both kicked butt!! The cookies have such an amazing sugar cookie taste (and it's a cookie mix! Krusteaz) and are really soft! And the cake was oh so yummy..........everyone loved it! As for fireworks, we didn't really see much from the house. We didn't go out to see any, mainly because Chase had no nap and was ready fro be before 7pm! Plus, none of us like huge crowds of people so we usually end up staying home anyway. Before we moved last September, we could see fireworks right off our front porch, which was nice. But at this house, we could see a few but it was too scary to be out there to try and watch them. (not the greatest neighborhood to be out in at night :() We did watch the fireworks on tv and listened to some amazing music! We watched a little of the show from D.C., but we mainly watched the local channel to see the fireworks downtown. I have to say, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra was AMAZING!!!!! Their music was just beautiful.....and the fireworks were just as beautiful!! Ty enjoyed watching them, but he was disappointed he couldn't see any outside. I told him we will make some plans to go out next July 4th to see some live. All in all we had a really nice holiday weekend.

I am SO far behind with scrapbooking, you would think I would try and get caught up any chance I had to sneak scrapping in, right?!? WRONG!! I have now started a cross stitch project. LOL I found an adorable, FREE, pattern that I just couldn't wait to do!!! I got it started earlier last week, and i'll be sure to post pics as I work on it. I also still want to sneak in scrapbooking when I can, but at this rate i'll be lucky to get one layout done every few weeks! LOL
