As of yesterday.....

I am a whole year older! Where did that year go?!?!? It was such a great birthday!! It started out slightly crappy, as the internet was down yet AGAIN! Remember I posted that Comcast had come out and "fixed" it?!? Well, apparently they didn't because as of yesterday morning the internet was down again. Z called Comcast and they got someone out here fairly quickly and so far, *knock on wood*, it is still up and running. I'm sure it's just a matter of time before it is out again. UGH!!! But the day got better after that. What really made the day special was getting a card from dad!! Ever since mom passed away he didn't send cards, which I obviously understood. (mom was always in charge of remembering birthdays! LOL) But when I got the mail and saw a card in the mailbox and saw the handwriting, I knew it was from dad! I squealed and ran back into the house to open it!!



When Ty got home from school I showed him the card and he loved it, as he loves Elvis! It was such a sweet thing for dad to do, and I will cherish it forever. Z also surpised me with a card when he got home and it was so sweet!! We had steak off the grill with a baked potato and green beans. (I swear, Chase would eat a whole thing of green beans all by himself....he LVOES them!!!) After dinner, we all went to a place called Cardin's Drive-in and I got a banana split!!! This thing was HUGE!!! Z and I shared it, and it was simply amazing. Ty and Chase had a cup of chocolate ice cream, and there was still some left! Ahhh, who needs birthday cake when you can get a banana split like we got?!? If I would have had my camera with me I would have taken a pic of it...LOL

Sprin has sprung!!

Ahhh, I have missed spring! Everything is new and fresh......and unfortunately it brings along nasty pollen. Poor Z has had issues with his sinuses, as well as a few friends of mine. I have also had some breathing issues but for the most part it has been fairly tame for me. This past winter was wayyyy too long, that's for sure!!! I wish we had our forever home so we could do some planting.....Ty wants our very own dogwood tree's and wants to plant some flowers, but I told him we couldn't do that here. He said "I can't wait for us to have a forever home so we can plant anything we want...." I felt so sad for him.

So last week we had company......as horrible as this sounds, I am SO glad they are gone! Nothing against them, but with this house as small as it is, having two extra people was rough! There were some other issues, but I won't get into that here. It's taken me some time to get the house back in order, and I still have things I need to do! (and yet here I sit....) Ty was off for spring break and he had so much fun, but he was SO ready to go back to school on Monday.......I guess he needed the "break" back to school, since when company was here he was run ragged. :( It was so nice of him to help, but I felt so bad that he had to do so much. I did my best to do things instead of him so it wasn't so much on him, but he was still asked to do so much. Ok, I don't want to turn this into a vent....LOL

We are still having issues with Comcast and the internet, but as of yesterday we were told the problem has been fixed and only needed to be "tweeked"......yeah, we shall see. Although, when the internet was out I did get some cleaning done...and got to work on scrapbooking! But I miss out on some good freebies with no internet, and that is definitely not a good thing! LOL

Well, I think I have goofed off enough.....I need to get laundry done and put away and pick up in the living room.....hope everyone has a GREAT Hump Day!!!

A few weeks ago I found out through Modern Mom Insiders that I qualified to receive a free pillow to test! I received it last week and I am absolutely in love!!! It is a pillow for side sleepers, and it is just what I have been searching for for so many years.



I can't say enough about this amazing pillow! It is so soft and squishy, but also offers lots of support............I love, love, love it!!!!

Someone had strawberries on sale this past weekend and I had been wanting to make a strawberry shortcake for awhile now so we picked up a container.......I haven't used my round cake pans since we moved, so i decided to just use my regular cake pan.....

Been too long!

Whew, I hate when I don't blog frequently. Comcast has been giving us a fit with our internet. It will be working for awhile and then go out on us....and the sad thing is it's been going on for months now!! We've had several people out to look at it, and of course each one blames the person that was out before them. Now we are waiting on someone to check the lines from the pole to the house, which we've been begging them to do all along. But I digress.......

Hmmm, let's see. Things here have been good. A week or so ago we had some nasty rains and wind, and terrible flooding around the area. We were very lucky, but it was scary. I don't like when we have tornado warnings! We did end up with most of our driveway in our front yard and a little river running through the backyard, but considering how bad it could have been, i'll take it. The boys are doing great!! Tyler is still doing great in school, and is already excited about only having a few months of school left. He can't wait to be a second grader! (I keep telling him not to rush time since it goes by way too fast as it is....he will realize it when he is grown and has children of his own, i'm sure) Chase is just too much fun! His tantrums have been rough, but we are getting through them. He has such an amazing sense of humor, though.....he loves being silly and making everyone laugh! He is such a chatterbox, but its still hard to make out what he is saying. Tyler didn't really start talking clearly until he was well over 2 years old, so i'm not worried. For the most part I can make out what Chase is trying to say....almost everything is "puppy", except for when he see's a school bus.....he squeals "BU!!!" when he see's any school bus! And he still absolutely loves his big brother, and wants to do whatever it is he is doing. And I must say, we are so lucky that Ty loves playing with Chase as well! Yesterday Ty wasn't feeling too good, but he still wanted to play with Chase....it was so sweet.

This week we have company coming down. Z's parents will be here hopefully this Thursday! Z's dad wants to go to Ty's school for lunch on Friday, which I think is so sweet. We have been so busy with getting things situated/rearranged so we have room in this super small house. We are going to donate tons of clothes and toys again, and we have already made two dump runs and need to make a few more this week!! I am so very grateful for a roof over our heads, but I would SO love just a few extra feet in this house! LOL

I can't think of much else new going on.......I will be sure to get lots of pics while we have company here, though. I hope to actually get a good family picture taken as well!!

New kitchen table

I forgot to post about the new kitchen table we got! Since we moved the table we had was just way too big for the kitchen, so I asked Z about downsizing the table and he said maybe income tax time. Well, this week Kmart had a super cute (and affordable!) table and chair set on sale! Z picked it up yesterday on his way home from work and we put it up last night: (ignore the radio stand next to the freezer in the pic....we had to move it to make room for the freezer, and I have no idea where we will put it! LOL)



It's so much smaller than what we had, but is just perfect for the four of us! I did keep one of the older chairs to use for Chase's booster seat, and the cushions on the seats now are just temporary until I can get some new ones. :)

Super cute!

So i'm really far behind in checking some other blogs I frequent, and I totally missed making super cute photo hearts! I just love this blog, and I wish I would have seen that post before Valentine's day! I decided to try and make a photo ornament (minus the ribbon) and it actually turned out really cute!





I didn't add the ribbon because I still haven't found any yet (LOL) but I really think they are super cute! I need to get a better up-close pic of Ty so I can make one with his pic....hopefully i'll get that done today!!

Camera case!!!

I bought a super cute camera case last week........i'm so not a pink person, but for the price I couldn't pass it up!!!



It's made by Kodak, and get this....it cost me .14 cents!!! That was IT!!! I didn't post anything about it because I was sure my order was going to get cancelled, but it showed up today!!! I love having my camera with me all the time, but I hate taking my big camera bag everywhere.....now I can put my camera in this case and just toss it in the diaper bag!!

Long weekend

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in awhile. Last Friday we got our income tax back and we've been super busy ever since!!! We've been stocking up on things we've been needing as well as dealing with some germs going through the house. Z, Ty and Chase all had a cold that lasted for over a week and I had been fighting it off but now I finally have it. It feels more like a head cold with a crappy cough, but as long as I keep up with Advil and some cough meds at night I can function. Poor Tyler, though. He got rid of his cold, but a few days last week he complained about his ear bothering him a little. Saturday morning he woke up and it was really hurting him. I put some numbing drops in and gave him some Motrin and he seemed fine. By the time we got to the second store of the morning he was crying really hard about his ear hurting him. When we got back home I gave him more drops and more Motrin, but they just wouldn't take the pain away for long at all. Z put a call into the doctors after-hours nurse, and of course they were over an hour behind with call backs. I had checked Ty's temp and it was slightly high....99.4. About 45 minutes later it was up to 100.4. :( He was so miserable, and nothing was helping. While waiting for the nurse to call us back, he got sick. Z finally called them and told them that his temp was even higher and he had gotten sick, so they updated his info and said a nurse would be in touch as soon as possible. I told Z to just take him to the ER and he was going to, but the nurse finally called us back. Z ended up taking Ty to the ER anyway and his left ear was infected really bad, and the right ear was not too far off. :( They gave him some strong antibiotics and more ear numbing drops. (that work 100% better than the drops we had!!) They also gave him some Tylenol with codeine before they left the ER and by the time they got home he was barely able to walk. He slept for a few hours, then woke up a little after 2am and got sick again. After that he and I slept in the living room and he seemed to be doing good. He still complains about his ear hurting from time to time, but he is so much better. I hate seeing my boys so sick like that. :(

Well, as far as our shopping, we got some amazing deals!! We finally got a new freezer, and it's so nice to have storage again. We're going tonight (hopefully) to get a new kitchen table. I like the one we have, but it's just too big for where we live right now. :( We also gto some AMAZING deals of clothes for the boys!!! We found sleepers for Chase for under $3, and Ty got some new shoes and slippers he had been wanting. (just like daddy's slippers!) I got 2 new bras (which is a HUGE deal for me, as I HATE having to buy bras.......I prefer to just let the twins hang, myself) I also got a bigger memory card for my camera, plus got an AMAZING deal on a super cute camera case. (i'll do a seperate post on that in a sec) All in all we did very well, and still paid lots of bills. It feels so good to know things are paid up and ahead for once. :)

Internet issues

Ugh, so for almost a week we've been having issues with our internet. We will be online and then the lights on the modem start to blink and we can't get online. When we called Comcast they said it sounded like the splitter outside, and if they had to fix it it would cost US $50....WTF?!?!? Z brought a splitter home and changed it and we still had issues so we were told it could be the modem, so we exchanged the modem and it seemed to work.......for about half of the day on Friday. Now Comcast is supposed to come out later this afternoon to see what's going on. I'm sorry, but their customer service is not the greatest........add to the mix that aunt flo is here and i'm super crampy and grumpy.......FIX MY INTERNET!!!!!
